Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) are vital assets during emergency and disaster response. They are fast to deploy, inexpensive to operate and provide extensive low-altitude flight ability. Compared to helicopters, the near-silent operation of sUAS offer increased situational awareness of ground personnel.
Rhino Environmental’s sUAS provides rapid situational awareness, which is critical during emergency or disaster situations. Once on the ground, drones provide near-instant response time. Within minutes of take-off, sUAS drones can pinpoint survivors in difficult to reach locations, flooded areas or beneath dense smoke canopies. High definition 640/4K Radiometric Forward Looking InfaRed (FLIR) sensors attached to rugged drones with high wind and moisture tolerance are essential to disaster response efforts.
Our sensors are smart. Isotherms allow our sUAS fleet to search for specific temperatures within an environment, such as human body temperature. Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging (MSX) results are instantly available to on-the-ground first responders. MSX provides an InfaRed (IR) spectrum image overlaid against a 4K visible spectrum image. This creates a radiometric thermal representation with high definition details such as human facial features, clothing and ability to read text such as building labels. Radiometric means with the tap of a finger, the temperature of a selected location will be shown. We also offer IR sensors for low-light situations. Additionally, you can easily track locations of ground personnel wearing tiny IR beacons to gain situational awareness.
Rhino Environmental understands time is critical. To mitigate aircraft downtime, our capabilities include fixed placement sUAS linked to ground power to monitor an area with unlimited flight time.
